Wetherby are delighted to announce that Les Quennevais School in Jersey won the award for Architectural Merit at yesterday’s 2020 INCA Awards.
The INCA awards aims to acknowledge projects for innovative design and exceptional quality. This year saw a huge focus on the use of brick and clay slip systems; a real alternative to traditional masonry and is a fantastic opportunity for building designers to match existing and immediate brick surroundings.
The newly introduced ‘Architectural Merit’ Award enabled special recognition for members and non-members to showcase splendid examples of projects utilising External Wall Insulation and as the first winner of this award we couldn’t be prouder.
Les Quennevais School was a major £38m development that saw the construction of a new state of the art school in Jersey. Wetherby’s External Wall Insulation System was installed with over half a million clay brick slips covering the facade of a whopping… 60,000m² build.
The aesthetic appearance of this build has been a great success and with such a monumental surface area to install brick slips it has also been one our largest brick slip projects to date. The building has an outstanding finish in Wetherby’s white smooth brick slip.
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists at the 2020 INCA Awards and we look forward seeing you all next year!
