Wetherby Building Systems Ltd, the UK market leader in external wall insulation has collaborated with Wherry Housing Association and Anglian Building Products to give the Norwich area a thermal makeover.
Wherry Housing Association is part of the Circle Housing Group who manage more than 63,000 properties across the UK. They had planned to bring some life into the 1930’s solid wall properties, which were hard to heat and costly to run. Thanks to Wetherby’s external wall insulation (EWI) system, residents now have warm affordable homes.
The Wetherby system specified for the project incorporated 60mm phenolic insulation. This helped achieve new CO2 emissions of 0.56 tonnes a year in contrast to the previous 7.51. The system was finished with silicone ‘K’ render to give a slick modern look to the long standing properties.
Operations Director for Anglian Building Products, Paul Bichener said “As well as the obvious benefits of warmer homes, the houses have really benefitted from the face lift, which is an added benefit for the residents.”
