Ready, steady … BAKE!

Catching up over a cuppa and a slice of cake, employees of Wetherby Building Systems have today taken part in a Northern bake-off, with two individual coffee mornings being hosted at Golborne and Haydock, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

From a small scale idea in 1990, Britain’s Biggest Coffee Morning has gradually turned into the UK’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer, with £25 million being raised in 2014 alone.

 

It’s a scary fact that one in three people at some point in their lives will have to face cancer, yet contributions made through Coffee Mornings like mean that Macmillan can make sure no one has to face the terrifying journey alone.

A massive thank you goes out to Karen Walker, Jacqui Brown, Heather Sargent, Steve Preston, Stephen Dewberry and Lesley Grindley, who generously took time out to bake delicious goodies for their colleagues and to all staff that donated money to such a worthwhile cause.
