Cowshot Crescent in Woking has recently undergone vital refurbishment works to the external walls with the help of Wetherby’s Epsitherm EWI system.
With an existing U-Value of 2.37w/m²K, improving the thermal efficiency of these terraced blocks was high on the agenda for EWIS UK Ltd. With this in mind, Wetherby’s Epsitherm insulation was selected due to the composition of expanded beads of polystyrene and the layer of graphite. The inclusion of graphite ensures the product offers enhanced thermal performance. Dual thicknesses were installed throughout this developement of 50mm and 130mm in order to cover the various levels of substrate meaning EWIS UK Ltd were able to maximise the thermal performance throughout with minimal disruption to the external envelope making it the ideal cost-effective insulation method.
The development was completed with Wetherby’s durable Brick Effect Render in colour Bronte Stone to create a traditional look and feel. The versatile render is a cost effective waterproof finish that has been utilised in this development due to its flexibility to coincide and enhance the aesthetic with the already existing white silicone render. This dual look and high quality installation from EWIS UK Ltd has meant the appearance has been retained within the neighbouring community and with a new U-Value reading of 0.30w/m²K the results have made a dramatic difference to the thermal efficiency within the properties resulting in the residents reaping the benefits of reduced heating bills and warmer, weather resistant homes.
