We are delighted to be part of the team that scooped the ‘Large Project of the Year’ award at the Wales Regional Energy Efficiency Awards this week.
The award was presented for the major £2m scheme to transform more than 300 houses on the Caerphilly County Borough Council operated Lansbury Park estate. Wetherby collected the award alongside Caerphilly Council, main contractor E.ON and EWI installers Elite Rendering and SAMS Drylining.
The Lansbury Park estate was beginning to look tired and, with increasing heating bills, Caerphilly Council embarked on a project to not only improve the energy efficiency of the houses, but also transform the exterior appearance of the properties. In order to deliver the required improvements, external wall insulation from Wetherby was utilised, with Wetherby’s Epsitherm insulation installed and finished with a variety of dry dash in a range of colours.
The award is designed to recognise the efforts of all those involved in delivering a successful large scale energy saving project. The Lansbury Park scheme was crowned as the winning project after judges praised the energy savings that have been possible as a result of the external wall insulation works. The judges were also impressed by the quality of installation and the impact the project has had within the local community.
Commenting on the award win, Bob Deane, managing director of Wetherby Building Systems said: “We are delighted to be part of the team that has delivered a fantastic project, which has truly transformed the Lansbury Park estate and made the lives of residents more comfortable.
“We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to projects, where we always work closely with installers, contractors and housing providers to deliver the best possible results for customers and residents. It is fantastic to see this collaborative working deliver an award-winning project”
