Park Inn Hotel

The Park Inn (Leigh) Hotel is situated adjacent to the state-of-the-art Leigh Sports Village, which offers public recreational facilities and a 10,000-seat sports stadium.

Just a short drive from the cities of Manchester and Liverpool, the hotel is perfect for leisure and business travellers or visiting athletes. This modern hotel has 135 guest rooms styled in the colourful Park Inn design, all equipped with air conditioning and flat-screen televisions.

The structure comprises of a timber frame incorporating SIPS panels, however to increase the thermal efficiency of the structure additional insulation was fitted.

The Wetherby Epsitec system gave the ideal solution.

Timber battens were fitted to the SIPS panles onto which Wetherby Epsitec rails were attached. 80mm EPS insulation boards were then mechanically fixed to the Epsitec rails, creating a natural drainage cavity to ensure that the timber frame and SIPS panels remained dry and structurally sound.

A layer of K&A basecoat was applied to the EPS insulation boards and an alkali resistant strengthening mesh bedded in. For the final decorative render coat, a brilliant white Wetherby Silicone 1.5mm ‘K’ was used to encapsulate the building to give a crisp modern façade.
