Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Ed Davey paid an impromptu visit to a Wetherby / E-On site in Bulwell, Nottingham on Wednesday, witnessing first hand the thermal and aesthetical transformation external wall insulation has had on a number of homes in the area.
Speaking at a reception attended by manufacturers and systems suppliers
of the Nottingham City Homes project, Mr Davey enthused at how his counterparts from various areas of the globe are revering the UK government’s attitude to climate change by adopting initiatives such as the Green Deal and ECO.
Chatting to Wetherby’s technical sales manager for the midlands region, Steve Baker, he said that the UK was often been referred to as ‘global trendsetters’ in the energy conservation arena.
