Wetherby Insulated Render Systems Used on £2.1m Wrexham Scheme

Wetherby’s external wall insulation systems is planned to be installed on over 200 more properties in Plas Madoc by recognised contractor Sustainable Building Services (UK). The £2.1 million scheme is part of Wrexham County Borough Council’s Re- Roofing and Group Repairs Framework. The work entails roof replacements and the installation of external wall insulation.

The Lowton-Cubbit house type were built in the late 1960’s, featuring steel frames, brick infill panels and concrete tiled roofs. Due to the solid wall construction, they were holding poor heat retention and in need of retrofit.

In the first phase of the framework, similar works were carried out by SBS using a combination of Wetherby Silicone and Brick Slip EWI systems. A selection of matching colours were specified for the multiple housing blocks by Wrexham CBC.

With a seamless transition into phase 2 in September 2018, 200 properties are being installed with the same range of Wetherby Insulated Render Systems comprising, Enhanced EPS insulation, silicone render and brick slips. Work is scheduled to continue until February 2020 and the Wetherby Technical Site Supervisors are working closely with project to ensure a smooth process throughout.
