Wetherby are proud to announce that they have been selected as finalists for not one but TWO categories in the 2014 Energy Awards. Now in its 4th year, these awards aim to reward the achievements of companies who are helping to cut carbon emissions and leading the way in innovative energy use.
Wetherby’s Cadbury Heath project in Bristol was the first to be shortlisted for the Energy Efficient Project of the Year award. This exemplar project has demonstrated true value to the partnership, the residents and the community as a whole. The scheme has improved the energy efficiency of almost 1000 homes to date. Resident energy bills have been virtually halved and carbon emissions reduced on average by 40%.
Wetherby is proud of its continual collaborate with an impressive array of top quality contractors, local authorities and housing associations. If one shortlisted project wasn’t enough, another has been recognised and shortlisted for the Energy Efficient Partnership of the Year Award.
In partnership with R W Hough & Sons and Powys Council, Wetherby embarked on a project to thermally upgrade 55 properties under the government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. This refurbishment programme at Trehanfren Estate in Newtown, North Powys saw the homes undergo a massive transformation, with the installation of external wall insulation (SWI). This project is the perfect example of a highly successful refurbishment programme that was completely planned and executed with the community at its heart. It also demonstrates the exceptional results that can be delivered through utilising quality products, working with experienced installers and maximising long-standing partnerships.
The winners will be announced at an awards evening on 2nd December at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
